The Johann Stüdel Award for the Best Lecture of the Day, at the 14th International Festival of Alpinism in Prague
Mára Holeček is undoubtedly a member of the world mountaineering class. He concluded the four-day marathon at the National House in Smíchov with a lecture on his journey through a climbing life ended by the famed first ascent in the alpine style in the southwest wall of the eight-thousander Gasherbrum I. The best for the end? According to the reaction of the full hall and the fact that Mára took the Johann Stüdel Award for the best lecture of the day, there is nothing more to say: YES!
